Stan Briggs started Control Associates after six years at Bailey Controls, where he serviced boilers and control systems across Ohio's industrial plants. When Bailey wanted to transfer him to Chicago, his customers called Cleveland to object. Some called Stan directly. He stayed in Ohio and started his own company instead. That was 1968. The business began with Stan, a few engineers, and the clients who had asked him not to leave. It grew from there.
